2006-01-15 [Seamus Schwathe]: Does the winner write another poem if they are challenged?

2006-01-15 [Askoga]: No, the same poem duels again the next week, since it's that poem that won. The winner can write another poem, but can not enter it into the same category until his/her first poem exits the arena.

2006-01-15 [Seamus Schwathe]: Okay. Thank you!

2006-01-16 [Askoga]: You're very welcome!

2006-01-20 [omgOMEGA]: How do I submit poetry?

2006-01-20 [Askoga]: First you read through The Rules. That page will direct you. If, after having read the rules, you still have questions, please contact me, and I will help you.

2006-01-20 [omgOMEGA]: I see. thank you!

2006-01-20 [Askoga]: You're quite welcome!

2006-01-25 [SeLoCeS]: i will be away for a couple of weeks so if there are any poems in realistic can you please look after it ta and hope to see you all soon

2006-01-25 [Askoga]: Thanks for the warning, I'll keep an eye on your category for you.

2006-01-30 [Dil*]: Question: I got messaged saying I won 10 times, where would I find the badge for it?

2006-01-30 [Askoga]: You should have been given the badge when you were messaged.

2006-01-30 [Dil*]: uhm....I think I forgot to post it, or I asked if I really got it (because I didn't think I had won so many times), but they never replied, so now I'm confused.

2006-01-30 [Askoga]: According to The Winning Duelists page, you've won exactly ten times, up to this week (your current duel hasn't been changed yet).

2006-02-01 [Dil*]: thanks.

2006-02-01 [Fizban]: okay lets see if I cant make this work,...nope, I need to figure out wher to submit my poem.

2006-02-01 [Askoga]: First you must read through The Rules, then follow the directions there to submit your poem. If, after reading The Rules, you still have questions, please ask.

2006-02-01 [Askoga]: General Announcement: Everyone, please read The Rules before asking how to submit a poem. There are directions on that page. If, after having read The Rules, anybody has questions, you may return here and ask them. Thank you.

2006-02-02 [Fizban]: lols,...I read them ofcourse, and I didnt ask a question yet soo lol...

2006-02-02 [Askoga]: Well, I've been asked several times how to submit a poem, and I'm flat tired or repeating myself.

2006-02-02 [Fizban]: Yeah, I see...lols, I figured it out, just gimme a min and I will submit :)

2006-02-03 [Fizban]: did I do it wrong?? why did you remove my poem from that page, but you didnt submit it to the love poems poll...?? :(

2006-02-03 [Askoga]: Every Sunday the duel is changed. Only two poems duel at a time. Your poem is on a page for that category, waiting for its turn to duel. Don't worry, there hasn't been enough participation that you'll have to wait too long before your poem duels.

2006-02-03 [Fizban]: oooh....how did I miss that in the rules? lol...well, okay ^_^, sorry if I had known I wouldnt have been concerned,..whoops. I was just like,...glad I made hte deadline, then scared that you werent going to let me and then I would miss the deadline or something lols...

2006-02-03 [Askoga]: -grins- Maybe I should send a note to the poet when his/her poem is approved, that way I won't get these panicy comments. You're not the first to panic.

2006-02-03 [Fizban]: Lols...well when I see my poem removed and no indication as to why, and without knowledge as to where its gone...I panic lols...sounds like a good idea hah

2006-02-03 [Moorn]: Maybe put a note right in front of the 'post under this line' warning? It'd save you from having to send notes every time a poem entered.

2006-02-03 [Askoga]: Hee, One step ahead of you, Moorn. Thanks for saying so, though. -smiles-

2006-02-05 [Poetry Lover]: Love... tied last week. I know there are ten votes there already (wow), but please make sure you voted! And I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for their great participation since we started up again, it's really heartening to see the arena living again, and with so many people voting in the polls.

2006-02-05 [Fizban]: HAh!! lols..well now its 7-5 for the votes...

2006-02-05 [Askoga]: Aye, I know, but those were added after I said it was tied. And I'd rather not go back and change the category, now that I've sent out my messages and such.

2006-02-05 [Fizban]: lols...I will ask my friends to vote...

2006-02-05 [Dil*]: omg! the suspense, my brother is dueling me in the category: dark.

2006-02-05 [Askoga]: Hee, that's pretty cool

2006-02-05 [Dil*]: Yeah...it's funny.

2006-02-09 [Sad Lonely Angel]: question, where do i submit my poetry?

2006-02-09 [Askoga]: Please read The Rules. That page will tell you where to go. If you still have questions, after having read that page, please message me, and I will do my best to answer them.

2006-02-10 [Sad Lonely Angel]: okay, thanks

2006-02-13 [Fizban]: are you supposta vote in your own contest or no? lols...

2006-02-13 [KainVM]: Don't think your allowed to. Unless your voting for the other person. No arguments. Askoga won't be available for while so sorry.

2006-02-13 [Fizban]: oh, crap, how do I take back a vote then ? :(

2006-02-15 [LonelyTylenol]: You can, but you shouldn't just vote for it because it's your own.

2006-02-15 [Fizban]: oh of course not. I am not stupid, I would vote for the one I liked best.

2006-02-16 [Askoga]: Sorry, I'm currently not at my own computer. However, I need to make a correction: Duelists can, and in fact are encouraged to, vote in their own duels. We hope that every person votes fairly.

2006-02-16 [Dil*]: That's what I thought...

2006-02-20 [Ergraf]: Updates are done for the week. We are running low on submissions, though, so tell your friends and beat them with firecrackerrs until they tell their friends! ^^

2006-02-20 [Askoga]: I believe we do have a few new submissions that I haven't had time to read through yet. Sorry, those of you who were hoping to duel this week, but whose submissions haven't been reviewed yet.

2006-02-24 [Akayume]: I think I shall enter^^

2006-02-24 [Kileaiya]: Do eet Akayume! Do eet!

2006-02-24 [Akayume]: *giggles* alright, I will.

2006-02-24 [Akayume]: Only problem is, I dont know wich one to enter in XD *haha*

2006-02-24 [moonscale]: I would like to enter, but I can I do it as anonymous? and how does one "duel" a poem?

2006-02-25 [Shyest]: I don't think you can enter annonymously, but the "duel" is just a poll.

2006-02-25 [Akayume]: *nods head* yuppers^^ people vote for the poem they like

2006-02-26 [Askoga]: The poet's name and Username are not displayed in the dueling arena. Also, if you would like to leave your name unknown, you may use a nickname, or you may put prefer not to disclose. The dues, as Shyest and Akayume have already pointed out, is simply a poll, where the general public vote for one of the two poems in a certain category (Love... for example) that they like best.

2006-02-27 [Akayume]: *nods head* cool.

2006-02-27 [Tal Anduril]: It hasn't happened in a long time, but really the only reason we asked for a name is to match the person to the poem. We had an instance when we first opened where someone (either accidentally or on purpose I don't know) managed to mix up all the poems on the submissions page (which at the time also housed the poems that were dueling).

2006-03-07 [Kitara Softpaw]: I've never seen so many categories dueling at once since I came here

2006-03-07 [Dil*]: they used to be all going, when this place was uber popular.

2006-03-08 [Askoga]: This is going a lot better than I expected it to, actually. I'm pretty pleased.

2006-03-08 [Kitara Softpaw]: Well, I'm trying to get some of my friends interested, because I really like dueling here. I do have a question though: If your poem were to lose, could you resubmit it later into the same, or a different, category?

2006-03-08 [Askoga]: You could resubmit it later. However, remember that if you resubmit it against the poem it dueled before, it'll probably come out with the same result. Of course, if you submit it to a different category (be sure it fits!), you probably won't have that problem.

2006-03-08 [Askoga]: On the other hand, I would prefer it if the same poem isn't dueling in two categories at once. That would make it confusing for me, and possibly for the general public, as well. Remember, you are supposed to submit a poem to the category it best fits. If it doesn't really fit in any of the categories, message me, and I'll see what I can do.

2006-03-08 [Askoga]: The reason I say that you can resubmit a poem is because honestly, I, and the other staff, probably won't know any better, since we see so many poems (with all of the categories, combined, there are currently nine poems, plus the ten or so that have recently been added to the Olde Poems Page), and there will be more besides. It would be hard to keep track of whether or not a poem has dueled before. On the other hand, if there is the same poem in two different categories at once, a staff member will message you, asking which category it should be in.

2006-03-09 [Kitara Softpaw]: Well, no, I wouldn't submit it into two catgories at once. That would be confusing for me as well. But as I become more familiar with the system, I see where one or two of my poems could fit into another category as well and maybe better, and that is why I asked. And I am not going to resubmit it against a poem it already lost to - that would be asking for a loss. And if I changed a poem I may want to resubmit it to see if it fares differently. But I wanted to ask first and make sure I wasn't breaking any of the rules or anything.

2006-03-10 [Moorn]: Thash a good policy. ^^

2006-03-10 [Askoga]: Indeed, it is! I really appreciate it, Acorna.

2006-03-10 [Kitara Softpaw]: *chuckles* You're Welcome [Askoga]. And nice to see you again [Moorn]. It's been ages.

2006-03-10 [Kitara Softpaw]: Um, what happens when/if a duel ties?

2006-03-10 [Askoga]: The duel continues for another week, or until the tie is broken. The poll will remain up and unchanged, and no new duel will take place that week in that category, until the tie is broken. Usually if there's a tie, the staff member in charge of that category will announce the tie here, and encourage everyone who hasn't already voted to vote.

2006-03-10 [Kitara Softpaw]: Okay, thank you. *bows* Just wondering, because right now, Jovial and Love... are tied.

2006-03-11 [Askoga]: They may not be by Sunday. You never know.

2006-03-11 [Kitara Softpaw]: Well, yes, I realize there are two days left, but seeing them tied just sparked the question in my mind. ;)

2006-03-11 [Askoga]: ^^ It's a good question. By the by, if I ever get to be sounding too bossy-ish, smack me with a fish. I'm sure I'd deserve it.

2006-03-12 [Kitara Softpaw]: Oh no, you've fielded my questions rather well. Don't worry. ;P You seem rather nice to me - not too bossy at all.

2006-03-13 [Ergraf]: Updated. ^^

2006-03-14 [Askoga]: Glad you think so!

2006-03-14 [Kitara Softpaw]: Haha - I am too...

2006-03-16 [Pink_Pixie]: Hey hey everyone! who's the owner or staff members of this wiki?

2006-03-16 [Askoga]: If you have questions about the Arena, please direct them in my general direction. As for those volunteers who are helping and/or have helped out around the Arena, please see the Blessings of Donators page.

2006-03-16 [Pink_Pixie]: ok I was wonder if I could link my wiki *Yours and Mine: ET Poets United* to yours and if you might link yours to mine?

2006-03-16 [Askoga]: Indeed, you could, and I shall. Wonder how I'll go about it, though.... Hey, are the asterisks ( this thing: *) part of the wiki name?

2006-03-16 [Pink_Pixie]: yep

2006-03-16 [Pink_Pixie]: you rock!!thanx!!

2006-03-16 [Askoga]: You're very welcome!

2006-03-18 [Kitara Softpaw]: ^^' Hah, I'm glad that worked out. I found them somewhere and told the about the EWPDA. I hope you don't mind [Askoga].

2006-03-18 [Askoga]: Not at all! It will help out both wikis.

2006-03-19 [Kitara Softpaw]: That's what I figured. It's a nice cooperation thing. Maybe this way we'll get more submissions. ^^

2006-03-20 [Jovial]: Attention: The category Jovial was tied this week. Anyone who has not yet voted there please go and vote. Thanks!

2006-03-20 [Kitara Softpaw]: Somebody vote, please....this is Jovial's third week running with the same poems...

2006-04-03 [redneck johndeer dude]: sup kool wiki

2006-04-03 [Jovial]: Thanks! We're all pleased you like it, I'm sure.

2006-04-03 [Poetry Lover]: Love... was tied this week. Could any interested voters please make their way over there.

2006-04-03 [Kitara Softpaw]: Yes, please, you all should vote ^^' Look!!! All the categories are dueling!!!!

2006-04-04 [Askoga]: I know, isn't it awesome! I'm thinking that since Dark is always so full of poems, I might add the Sad category back in, so that more poems can duel at once. What do y'all think?

2006-04-04 [Askoga]: Also, I've noticed a few poems that would fit better in the Fantasy category, which was closed. If I add only one category, which would you prefer?

2006-04-06 [Kitara Softpaw]: I put my thoughts on the news page. I hope that was okay. But I'm still thrilled all of the categories are dueling. I was really suprised when I saw. I keep a running schedule up in my house, letting people know which poems are and aren't dueling every week and when the current duel ends. ^^

2006-04-07 [Askoga]: It's fine. I did put a more detailed version of my thoughts there, but I thought that not many people would be watching that page, while I know that most duelists are probably watching this one.

2006-04-07 [Kitara Softpaw]: Haha, that's true. I just like to know what's going on, so I watch that page ^.-

2006-04-08 [Kitara Softpaw]: The sad thing is, all of our categories are dueling, but hardly anyone is voting...

2006-04-09 [Askoga]: Actually, the number of votes is about standard. I was amazed when we had ten and twelve voters, this is pretty normal. What's sad is when there are only one to three votes.

2006-04-10 [Linderel]: I'm slightly confuzzled here. Aren't duels supposed to last for a week? Or have I misunderstood...

2006-04-11 [Askoga]: They are, you're right. I was busy yesterday, and plum forgot about updating. Sorry about that, mates. I'm off work now, and after a nap, my brain is functioning mostly well, so we'll get to those updates now! Again, I apologise for the wait.

2006-04-11 [Askoga]: Note: This is one reason we'd like more staff members. I can't always do all of the updates in a timely manner, because real life gets in the way.

2006-04-11 [Kitara Softpaw]: Well, actually, when I said that, each category only had about three votes

2006-04-12 [Askoga]: A lot of people vote last-minute, you know. I do myself, sometimes.

2006-04-16 [Aireiathiel]: ello acorna! um... how do I submit poetry?

2006-04-16 [Poetry Lover]: ^^ every one loves everything about love equally but we still need a tie breaker for the love poetry contest please.

2006-04-16 [Poetry Lover]: Aireiathiel., hit The Rules and on that page it'll take you to the submissions wiki.

2006-04-18 [Kitara Softpaw]: And if you don't get it, I'll explain it to you at school

2006-04-18 [Askoga]: Guys, I'm terribly sorry about all of this late stuff, but real life got in my way again. I'm sure you were all busy over Easter, too, and I hope each of you had a good holiday. The Arena will be updated by the end of today, I promise.

2006-04-19 [Dark Kin]: There was a tie in the Dark category this week. Please go vote if you haven't yet!

2006-04-19 [Kitara Softpaw]: *shrugs* You're busy, we're busy. It's okay Askoga. Noone's asking you to be perfect.

2006-05-04 [Legolisia]: umm..I have a question,I know this may sound sorta dumb, but how do I sumbit a poem?I'd like to make one for a more or less dark category,I've never competed with my poems before, and never on the internet,so please forgive my noobiness

2006-05-04 [Linderel]: Read The Rules and from there, go to the "Duelist Submissions Page" like it says at the top.

2006-05-04 [Kitara Softpaw]: (I'd like to point out that it's "newbieness" not "noobiness" You weren't being rude. You were just asking a question cause you were new.)

2006-05-05 [Legolisia]: okay,I sorta foudn that, but now I cant figure out how to actually submit my poem,it's not very clear on that...I get to put it under the line, but I'm not positive HOW I put it under a line I cant see..I have a slight issue with computers, they dont like me,and I cant wear my glasses when I'm looking at them..soo..yeah,some major issues in the sight department.

2006-05-06 [redneck johndeer dude]: SUP

2006-05-06 [Askoga]: That bar that says "Below this line" (or something similar....too tired to think properly) is the one you should submit below. When you're trying to edit the page, the bar will look like this, instead:
<img:stuff/Poetry%20Border%203.jpg>
. Simply post your poem below that stuff (directly below, not below the other poems), and I'll review it. Hopefully almost immediately, unless my 'net crashes again....

2006-05-08 [Askoga]: Right, everything should be updated now. If it's not, you can all kill me later....I need some sleep.

2006-05-08 [Kitara Softpaw]: *tackles Askoga* Glad to see you back!!

2006-05-09 [Askoga]: -falls over- Ack! I'm glad to be back, too! I suffered from withdrawls

2006-05-09 [Kitara Softpaw]: haha, I know I would if I was gone from ET that long. Me, I suffered from Askoga and EWPDA withdrawals while you were gone. ^^'

2006-05-09 [Askoga]: -laughs- I'm terribly sorry about that. If there had been anything I could do, I would have, though. What really happened is a misunderstanding between us and the cable company. They thought we hadn't paid, and we already had, right on time. Great fun, that.

2006-05-09 [Kitara Softpaw]: Oh yes, I can imagine. -.-' Glad you're back though. I did miss you

2006-05-18 [blackenedrose*]: it's backk!!!, i missed this place soo much!

2006-05-19 [Kitara Softpaw]: Yesh, it's back. Though I never experienced the original one, I like this one..

2006-06-17 [Half-Mad Poet]: when will the current "dark" and "to make you think" contests be over?

2006-06-18 [.Toxic Valentine.]: how do i submit a poem?

2006-06-22 [Kitara Softpaw]: Whenever [Askoga] gets back on, [Half-Mad Poet] And [.Toxic Valentine.], go to The Rules

2006-06-22 [kirishima_kun]: soo do i just post a poem under love and wait

2006-06-22 [Kitara Softpaw]: No, you post your poems at Duelist Submissions

2006-06-22 [kirishima_kun]: ohhh my bad thanks

2006-06-22 [Kitara Softpaw]: You're welcome

2006-06-22 [KainVM]: OKAY! Ahhh Sorry Everyone! Reallllly Sorry... Askoga and I have been neglectful! I'm going to start things back up. I'll finish the duels up right now, TODAY, and then when Sunday rolls by, I will announce the new duels! Best of luck to ye Duelists! May the best Poem win! Clear Skies and the Dragons wings guide ye!

2006-06-23 [Kitara Softpaw]: Yes! Back in Action

2006-06-26 [Fizban]: ...hmms...I need someone to tell me what category this poem will go in...:/,...to make you think or realistic would be the only applicable ones but...Fizban's writing: Laziness

2006-06-26 [Linderel]: I'd say 'to make you think'. *nodnod*

2006-06-27 [Moorn]: I agree.

2006-06-27 [Kitara Softpaw]: I concur

2006-07-01 [Askoga]: Whoo! And now I am caught up and have time to read that poem of yours, Fizban. Yay for time!

2006-07-01 [Askoga]: It does indeed sound like To Make You Think .... While it could go in Realistic as well, I think that it suits To Make You Think better. Which does your instinct tell you, Fizban?

2006-07-01 [Askoga]: Hmmm....also, any submissions to Jovial would be welcome! It's the only one that won't be dueling next week.

2006-07-01 [Fizban]: To make you think was what I was going for...because if it didn't make you think at all, I woudl be sad and remiss at failing in the poem lol. So I will enter it into that ^_^

2006-07-01 [Fizban]: now I just gotta remember how I enter it loyl...

2006-07-02 [Askoga]: Hee. I'll give you a hint: I always direct new poets here to The Rules page. When I first started submitting poetry here (-gasp!- that's before I was even a staff member!) it took me ages to figure out how to get back to the submissions page, when I had a new poem to submit.

2006-07-02 [Askoga]: If you want to get to it faster, I suggest either memorizing the page name (what I ended up doing, but only after becoming a staff member), or adding the page to your notes. That way, all the icky roundabout way of getting there is happily gone. (Note: Asking Askoga, even via private message, will not get you there much faster, because she always directs people to The Rules, since she can't remember who has submitted previously, usually)

2006-07-02 [Fizban]: lol...I submitted once before...but since I dont use this place often, theres really no sense in ~memorizing~ them lol...but I will read them to find where I place this thing again, cause I have forgtten.

2006-07-02 [Fizban]: Easy find...and to be said loyl. Heh...So there are three poems in to make you think... so I just put it at the bottom of that.

2006-07-02 [Askoga]: Fizban, the reason we don't give a link to the submissions page on this page is so that poets new to the Arena will have to visit The Rules page, before submitting anything. As I said, the easy way to get there quickly is to memorize the page name (it's not a hard one), or to put it in your notes. That way, people don't post a link to it on the main page. Thanks.

2006-07-02 [Askoga]: And I didn't mean to memorize the rules--they're mostly common sense, anyway--but rather to memorize the name of the submissions page.

2006-07-02 [Askoga]: Also, I do not see your poem anywhere on the submissions page.

2006-07-03 [Fizban]: Because I didnt put it up yet lol...I was stressed for time so I was hopping around. Also since I didn't have much time I didn't read the rules again, to make sure to follow everything correctly, so I didn't want to post my poem just incase there was some indescrepincy that I would miss in protocols. And there...I removed the link lol...~your welcome~.

2006-07-03 [Fizban]: In which now that I read them, they really are just common sense and common courtesy.

2006-07-03 [Askoga]: Thanks. I was debating removing your comment, but decided that since most people who ask where to find the submissions page don't read the previous comments anyway..... ^-^

2006-07-03 [Fizban]: hahaha lols...well arlighty then.

2006-07-03 [Askoga]: Truly, though. You'd be surprised how often the last comment posted is me directing someone to the rules page, and the next comment posted after that is someone asking me how to submit a poem

2006-07-03 [Fizban]: lol...heh.

2006-07-12 [dragoncaptive]: hey, just want to apologize for disappearing. My brother got our ip address banned and this is my first chance on at a different computer...

2006-07-12 [dragoncaptive]: I just didn't want you to think that I had just disappeared. but I can't help seeing as I have no reliable way to get on. sorry about the trouble

2006-07-12 [Fizban]: Awww, that sucks....stupid siblings...:/

2006-07-12 [Kitara Softpaw]: Yeys! [Askoga]'s back. *huggles*

2006-07-15 [Askoga]: Sorry about missing (another) week. I've been too tired lately. Hopefully, I can get on it this Sunday. I may have to change the end-of-duel day to Saturday. Any objections?

2006-07-16 [To Make You Think]: To Make You Think ... was tied last week. Please everyone vote, if you haven't already!

2006-07-18 [Askoga]: Dark and Realistic were both tied, also.

2006-07-24 [Askoga]: If there are no objections voiced by this coming Saturday, I will update then, instead of Sunday. All duel-ending dates will be placed for Saturday.

2006-07-24 [Askoga]: Okay, Dark and Realistic were tied again this week, and Love... needs votes. In that last, I am as guilty as everyone, but will not vote until tomorrow, because it would be unfair to have only one vote decide. Do please everyone vote!

2006-08-02 [moonscale]: More people need to vote!

2006-08-02 [Kitara Softpaw]: yes, more people should vote!!

2006-08-05 [Blaithin]: Why's Jovial still waiting for today?

2006-08-05 [Blaithin]: Nvm you're still updating. I pay attention, I really do XD

2006-08-05 [Kitara Softpaw]: *chuckles* Poor Blaithin.

2006-08-05 [Blaithin]: It's the other houses that mess me up. I check to see is [Askoga] or one of them is still on and if they're not, then they must have forgot something. I didn't even think that another house was updating lol

2006-08-05 [Kitara Softpaw]: Um, there's one problem....with one of the poems *sighs*

2006-08-05 [Blaithin]: Which one and what?

2006-08-05 [Kitara Softpaw]: *shifty eyes* I'm not sure I can tell you. It's all supposed to be anonymous...

2006-08-05 [Blaithin]: Well if it's yours I've read it in your diary or through your links most likely ;)

2006-08-05 [Kitara Softpaw]: true. But the problem is fixed now. ^^'

2006-08-06 [Askoga]: Hee, the poems *are* supposed to be anonymous, but that often doesn't work anyway, for people who know how to navigate around this site really well. And thanks for pointing out the problem to me, Acorna. Yay for fixing it before the day was done!

2006-08-06 [Kitara Softpaw]: yay for you [Askoga]!! And I'm one of those people who knows how to navigate he site...but I don't look delibrately. Most of the time though, I know if I'm dueling a friend...

2006-08-07 [Askoga]: o.o Looks like we're doing really well, guys! We've got votes in every category (already!), and at least one poem queued up that's not dueling, in each. Good job, everyone! I'm so pleased to see this much participation, you know.

2006-08-08 [Askoga]: Ah, my bad. Realistic has only the two poems that're dueling. The others have other poems waiting, though!

2006-08-08 [Kitara Softpaw]: Well, Realistic is a tough category tofill..it's so hard for people to judge how a poem might be comsidered "realistic".

2006-08-08 [Askoga]: XD Maybe people just don't write poems that fit the category. I'm thinking of bringing Fantasy back, but that'll have to wait until after I move--again.

2006-08-09 [Kitara Softpaw]: I believe i've entered a poem into Realistic before. And it has poems tat duel. So, some people do fill the category. Hmm...fantasy...

2006-08-09 [Kitara Softpaw]: I was thinking that maybe we should do a misc category. For poems that just don't fit anywhere...

2006-08-10 [Askoga]: Ahh, but back when all of the categories were open (alas, I do not remember such a time, but I do now know all of the categories that once were), you'd be hard-pressed to not find a category for any given poem. Besides, a miscellanious category would almost never duel, because so few poems would be submitted there.

2006-08-10 [LonelyTylenol]: Or so many would be submitted there that nobody would submit to anything else.

2006-08-10 [Askoga]: Ah, that would create a problem also, because it would mean that people are not looking properly at the other categories. It would make it so that I must be more strict when reviewing poems for submission, so that a poem is not mis-placed into miscellanious.

2006-08-10 [Askoga]: Better, I think, to just add more categories as people ask for them, or as I see a demand, or just as I see fit (such as adding fantasy again, because I know that some fantasy poems don't really fit anywhere else), than to add one that could hold any poetry at all.

P.S. I'm glad to see someone else joining in! Thanks, Tofurkey.

2006-08-11 [Kitara Softpaw]: True, true. It just seems sometimes that poems don't quite fit in the categories we have..

2006-08-13 [Askoga]: That's because we don't have all of the categories back yet. I want to add them, but don't have time to keep them all up.

Speaking of which, I will update the last two categories tomorrow morning, first thing. Going through a *very* difficult day.

2006-08-13 [SeLoCeS]: hi there sorry to get back to you so late but if u want me to take over realistic once again just call on me and i will be here ta anyways keep on voting everyone <(^v^)>

2006-08-13 [crowdel]: askoga if you are having such a hard time keeping up with it why not get the help from other people in the wiki then everything is not on your shoulders

2006-08-13 [Kitara Softpaw]: She's tried. And many people who are active are so busy with other things that they can't help...

2006-08-14 [Askoga]: I currently have a "help wanted" notice somewhere up there, and I'm always encouraging getting people who write poetry here to help out, if they can. So few people have enough time, though (it can take up to half an hour to do one category, or as little as ten minutes, depending on your technique). Many people prefer to spend that free time doing something else. And some, like me, just have rough days often. I, for example, am currently trying to pick myself up and move two states east of where I live now, and am living with my ex until then.

2006-08-14 [Askoga]: Seloces, I'll talk to Blaithin about it, but I'm pretty sure you can take up Realistic again. I bet Blaithin'll be happy to go down to only taking care of two categories. Sorry about giving it away ^^; I thought you disappeared on me.

2006-08-14 [Jovial]: The Jovial category was tied this week. Everyone please vote!

2006-08-14 [SeLoCeS]: yeah i was in India for two months so i didnt have internet but im back in New Zealand now and really to go on with helping <(^v^)>

2006-08-14 [Blaithin]: [SeLoCeS] if you would like Realistic that's perfectly fine :) I've only updated it once so it's not like I have a great attachment to it or anything :P
